Seeing this BMW 635csi over at Bring a Trailer brought back some amazing memories from my childhood.

My dad had a red 635csi, which was totalled by his friend. That was replaced with a black M635csi. At the time I thought it was a cool car, but didn’t really think it was anything special. I always knew the Porsche 911s were better.

Then one year while watching the Macau GP on TV, two white race prepped M635csi pulled up to the starting line (this was before they started racing M3s in touring cars), they looked so incredble, I was in awe just watching at these two cars lined up on the grid with all the other race cars. They didn’t really do that well in the race, but just seeing the same car as my dad’s, the car that I get driven to school to everyday in, racing, completely blew my mind. From that moment on, I knew, I just knew, M635csi were the best car ever made, even if they were getting lapped by the 911s.
